A firm, sometimes brittle Gouda. Sharp and fruity with seven NZ cheese awards and counting. Best cut from the traditional 10kg wheels, they take longer to age but the wait is worth it. This Gouda has been aged for 18 months.
Having honed their cheesemaking skills whilst still in the Netherlands, Ben and Fieke Meyer came to New Zealand in the 80s with a plan! The couple settled in the heart of the dairy-industry, Waikato, set up a cheesery, and eventually bought a farm to supply their own milk. The Meyer family continue to supply kiwis with their authentic, Dutch-style cheese.
