These extra-large rich and creamy porcini mushrooms are hand selected in Cremona, Italy. Their deep, nutty flavour is intensified by drying. To reconstitute dried mushrooms, soak in hot (not boiling) water for 15-20 minutes. Strain the liquid and put aside to freeze for porcini stock or add to the dish for extra flavour.

Perfect in braises, soups and sauces such as a rich porcini mushroom pasta sauce or great in a paella.

Gigante is based in Cremona, in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about 40 kilometres east of Milan. They are an artisan company who have specialised in sourcing and processing porcini mushrooms since the 1980’s. Their aim is to honour Italian food traditions by producing premium-quality porcini, with exceptional taste and aroma. Gigante porcini are authentic forest porcini, carefully selected and hand-picked by skilled and knowledgeable workers before undergoing a very careful selection process under the control of an expert mycologist (fungi specialist) who certifies their integrity. After drying with traditional methods, they are subject to more strict quality controls and regulations, to ensure only the very best are packaged for sale.
