Nieuwenhuis Farmstead Goat Cheese is made on their family farm, in the beautiful Waikareao Road Valley, just south of Hastings, using milk from their own goats. Husband and wife team, Annie and Geoff Nieuwenhuis, put great thought and care into their cheesemaking process, from the grass they grow, to how they care for their animals – they know each goat by name! This ensures the best goat’s milk is used to make their cheese, hand-crafted in small batches in their on-site creamery. Similar to wine making, their cheeses have unique flavours owing to the farm's local terroir. Nieuwenhuis goat cheese is distinct and authentic, reflecting the characteristics of their small herd, seasonal changes and pasture.
