These premium New Zealand grown hazelnuts have been cracked as whole nuts then lightly roasted to bring out the full texture and flavour of the nut.
Try adding them to baking, making decadent chocolate hazelnut truffles, sprinkling them over salads for added texture or simply eat as a healthy snack.
Hazelz New Zealand is fully owned and administered by New Zealand grower/shareholders. Established in 1998 by a small group of enthusiastic hazelnut growers, the co-operative now has over 100 grower/shareholders, spread throughout New Zealand.
Most of these growers have planted the New Zealand-developed ‘Whiteheart’ cultivar tree which grows well in our climate, is free of major pests and diseases and produces a creamy white nut with a delicious flavour. Hazel’s premium hazelnuts are packaged and sold as table nuts or pressed into an exceptional hazelnut oil.
The company’s processing and marketing facility is located in the Selwyn District near Kirwee and Darfield. All of the equipment used has been sourced and manufactured right here in New Zealand.
