A refined and expressive Rioja that balances fruit with savoury structure. The nose opens with generous black cherries, plums and redcurrant that is layered with cedar, leather and gentle spice. It is medium to full bodied wine with polished tannins and fresh acidity. Flavours of ripe red fruit and hints of vanilla and dried herbs, it unfolds with clarity and balance.
Pair with spicy chorizo, meat or poultry or porcini dominant dishes.

In 1987, Gonzalo Antón, together with a group of friends and business associates from nearby Vitoria-Gasteiz, embarked on a pioneering project in the heart of Rioja Alavesa.
The village of Villabuena de Álava, where his family had long cultivated vineyards, was chosen as the site for an innovative winery dedicated to crafting fine wines. Drawing on Gonzalo Antón’s experience in the hotel and restaurant sector, Bodegas Izadi quickly gained recognition within gastronomic circles. At the same time, the adoption of modern winemaking techniques and a continuous pursuit of excellence gradually defined the house style.
